Tucked away in the Wasatch Back, approximately three miles west of Heber City is the charming city of Midway–and may we say that Midway has it all! Home to the former home of Olympic events, Soldier Hollow Ski Resort, there are plenty of opportunities for skiing, tubing, and snowshoeing in the winter while featuring mountain biking and golfing in the summer. Soldier Hollow is also an outstanding location for summer mountain biking, running, skeet and golf. The panoramic views, sweeping vistas and fall leaves are what I believe keep people returning to the area. It’s beauty is like no other.
The community is also known for the large “hot-pot” or geo-thermal caldera at the Homestead Resort. There is year-round scuba diving in the caldera’s 90-95 degree water. The Homestead is also the site of an 18-hole golf course designed by Bruce Summerhays, Senior PGA Tour Pro.
Not to be missed, the annual Midway Swiss Days festival brings thousands of people to town to enjoy traditional cuisine and cultural performances! And let’s not forget the Sheep dog competition and the Cowboy Poetry festival. So much to enjoy in Midway you’ll have a tough time deciding what to enjoy first!
