AUTUMN'S COLORFUL SPLENDOR
After a warmer than normal summer with very little rainfall, it's time to welcome the crisp mornings and bright colors of autumn. It's a great time to enjoy so many activities as our thoughts begin to shift to the upcoming ski season. The excitement builds.....
KICK OFF FALL with the AUTUMN ALOFT BALLOON FESTIVAL
September 16-17, 2017 • 2530 Kearns Blvd | North 40 Fields, Park City, Utah

This weekend the short but sweet autumn season officially gets underway with the return of the Autumn Aloft Balloon Festival. On Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, we highly recommend you wake early and get yourself over to Treasure Mountain Middle School by 8 a.m. to watch as dozens of colorful hot air balloons float across the sky.
KID-FRIENDLY HIKES IN THE PARK CITY AREA

We've put together a list of hikes that are great fall hikes for families. The following family hikes range from 2-4 miles and are considered "kid-friendly" and "easy" by AllTrails.com.

Gambel Oak Loop: Park City
Gambel Oak Loop is a 3.9 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Park City, Utah. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Heber Valley Overlook: Wasatch Mountain State Park
Heber Valley Overlook is a 2.4 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Heber City, Utah that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until October. Horses are also able to use this trail.

Sultan Out and Back to Suntan Connection Loop: Park City
This hike is a 2.8 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Park City, Utah that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until October. Horses are also able to use this trail.

Poison Creek Trail: Park City
Poison Creek Trail is a 2.2 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Park City, Utah that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until November.

Looking for something a little more strenuous to hike with teens or adults? Try the McLeod Creek Trail. The 6 mile McLeod Creek Trail begins north of downtown Park City near the Snow Creek Medical Center. It merges with the Olympic Parkway Trail along McLeod Creek for about a mile to Meadows Drive before paralleling State Route 224 to the Farm Trailhead. The wide, flat pathway takes trail-goers through wooded areas, over bridges with scenic views and past unique sculptures before becoming open country at Old Ranch Road.
Tour des Suds
September 17, 2017 • City Park

The Tour des Suds is a 7-mile mountain bike climb starting at City Park. Go hard and treat it like a legit mtb race (yes, there are awards) or a crazy costume party on bikes. Either way, it's 2,700′ of vert straight up to the finish line/Skullcandy Party Station at the top of Guardsman Pass. Sponsored by Park City Brewery, festivities continue down at the Town Lift Plaza with lunch (including beverages of the carbonated sort), a killer opportunity drawing, costume contest and awards. The Tour des Suds is the zaniest mountain bike party in the west! For more info click here.
Hoppy Hour
September 23, 2017 • Wasatch Brew Pub

This party will celebrate the release of 'Clothing Hoptional', an annual beer made by Wasatch Brewery with hops harvested from open space protected by the Summit Land Conservancy. The $15 entry fee will get you apps, 2 drinks, and enter you into an opportunity drawing with awesome prizes! The proceeds will go to the Summit Land Conservancy and their efforts in saving land in Summit County for the benefit of people and nature. For more info click here.
2ndAnnual Park City Shot Ski Event
12pm-6pm, October 14, 2017 • Main St

We're enlisting 1,250 people to reclaim our world record for the largest number of people to take a simultaneous shot of beer lined up and down historic Main Street in Park City!

After the shot, come celebrate your victory in the Beer Garden at the top of Main. There will be live music, games and $5 Wasatch craft beers, as well as food available for purchase. For more info click here.

The North Face Endurance Challenge

This race course will not only start at the highest elevation within the North America series at 7,000 feet but it will also climb to the highest elevation of 10,000 feet. Athletes will navigate this world-renowned ski destination using a mix of double and single track trail, ski runs, mountain bike trails and various dirt access roads. Red Bull 400
September 30, 2017 • Utah Olympic Park


The third annual Red Bull 400 in the United States will be hosted at the Utah Olympic Park. Participants will run and race 400m up the Nordic ski jump at an elevation of 6,870 ft from the starting point. This will be the highest elevation Red Bull 400 has ever been.
